For the third consecutive year, Charter has been recognized by Forbes as one of America’s Best Employers for Veterans. We were also honored with a 2023 VETS Indexes 5-Star Designation, named a 2024 Top Veteran Employer by Military.com, and earned Gold distinction as a Military Friendly® Employer for both 2023 and 2024.
We’re proud to have received these awards because they demonstrate Charter’s dedication to supporting the nearly 10% of our workforce who have a military affiliation. We’re helping transitioning service members build meaningful, long-term careers with us through educational opportunities, programs, and partnerships, such as:
- Broadband Field Technician Apprenticeship Program | Charter’s Broadband Field Technician Apprenticeship Program is certified by the U.S. Department of Labor and is now available in all 41 states where we provide service. The training is focused on customer service, safety, and the skills required to perform installations and service calls. This self-progression program allows employees to make decisions about their chosen careers and gain in-depth knowledge about their jobs and industries. To recruit veterans into the program, Charter has established partnerships with more than 20 military bases as well as with organizations that focus on helping members of the military community transition to the civilian job market, like Hiring our Heroes.
- Hiring Our Heroes | An initiative of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, this nationwide organization connects veterans, active military members, and their families to career opportunities that take advantage of their skillsets learned in the armed forces. Charter serves on the Veteran Employment National Advisory Council, which is comprised of companies committed to hiring veterans and works to establish best practices for veteran employment. We’re proud to partner with organizations like Hiring Our Heroes who support the military community with services such as transition assistance, career coaching and job readiness.
- Charter Veterans Business Resource Group (BRG) | Our Veterans BRG assembles employees who have an interest in veterans’ issues with a focus on professional development and recruiting talent. The group plays a crucial role in helping former service members transition into the public sector, pairing them with veteran mentors and guiding them through career training opportunities.
We know the true strengths military members bring to our team. That's why we're committed to building an environment and programs that help to cultivate meaningful careers within our company.
