Speed and Reliability: Spectrum Internet Delivers

According to research from Deloitte, reliability and price are the key factors considered by consumers when choosing an internet connection, and every day, we strive to serve our customers by delivering fast speeds and consistent performance.

Recent reports from Opensignal and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) find we’re doing just that:

  • Spectrum delivers the most reliable internet, earning the highest national score in Opensignal’s new Broadband Reliability Experience report — and surpassing Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile in head-to-head match ups.
  • In a separate report, Opensignal also found Spectrum delivers the fastest Internet download speeds.
  • Spectrum Internet exceeded 100% of advertised download speeds and upload speeds on all tiers measured in the FCC’s most recent “Measuring Broadband America Fixed Broadband Report” – an achievement we have attained for seven consecutive reports.
    • Importantly, the FCC report found that Spectrum Internet exceeded advertised speeds even during peak usage (defined as the hours of 7:00 – 11:00 pm on weekdays at the time of the report), meaning that even when internet usage is at its highest, our network delivers the performance our customers expect.

Our industry-leading network offers gigabit speeds across our entire 41-state footprint. And all Spectrum Internet plans offer U.S.-based and in-house support with no modem fees, no annual contracts, and no data caps.

Our customers are counting on us, and we’re continuing to strengthen our industry-leading record, including through investments to make Spectrum Internet even stronger, faster, and more reliable and by expanding our network to reach even more families and small businesses.

  • Charter invested nearly $43 billion in our US infrastructure and technology from 2019-2023 alone.
  • We’re investing nearly $6 billion to upgrade our entire network to deliver symmetrical and multi-gigabit speeds to homes and businesses. Symmetrical and multi-gigabit speeds are expected to be available across our entire service area in 2026.
  • Charter is the nation’s #1 rural internet provider. Our multi-year Rural Construction Initiative is an investment of approximately $9 billion – a portion of which we will offset with over $2 billion in government support funding – that will ultimately connect approximately 1.75 million new homes and small businesses across the country.

It’s exciting to see our investments and the hard work of our employees recognized as they continue to deliver for the millions of families and small businesses we are proud to call our customers – they deserve nothing less and we want nothing more.
