Today, we were proud to stand with New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and others to announce that we’ll be locating our Northeast Regional Headquarters in Henrietta, NY, investing more than $2.9 million in state-of-the-art facilities and adding 228 new full-time jobs in the area. We are grateful to the Governor and his Empire State Development agency for its leadership in making this happen. We want to thank the Governor, Senator Schumer and the entire federal, state and local delegation for their ongoing support in our effort to grow jobs in the Rochester area and throughout upstate New York.
These new jobs include highly-skilled, regional technical operations and call center support positions, and are a key piece of our commitment to hiring 20,000 American workers, many of which will be customer service jobs brought back from overseas call centers. Currently, we employ 11,000 full-time workers across New York State, and when this new expansion is complete we’ll have more than 230 employees at our Henrietta facility, and over 460 at our customer care center in Rochester.
We believe in building and investing in a strong American workforce, both because it’s the best way to make our economy strong, and because it’s better for our business. By locating these jobs in the communities we serve, we’re ensuring that our subscribers benefit from a better-trained, personally-invested workforce that’s able to deliver the innovative products and superior customer service they deserve.
