Charter is proud to deliver superior products and services under the Spectrum brand to millions of customers across New York, including even faster entry-level broadband speeds.
We are committed to continuing to invest in our network – and the future of connectivity – as we deliver better and faster ways to connect more New Yorkers.
Our entry-level broadband speeds are getting a boost!
As a result of recent upgrades, 100 megabits per second (Mbps) is the slowest offered broadband speed for new and existing Spectrum customers in virtually every market we serve. In the last year we increased that speed 66% – from 60 Mbps to 100 Mbps – at no extra cost to our customers.
And Spectrum customers in New York City will be offered a minimum broadband speed of 200 Mbps.
Equally exciting, we recently announced the launch of our Spectrum Internet Gig in New York City with additional markets to be rolled out across our footprint in the months ahead. By delivering up to a 1 gigabyte connection to customers’ homes, Spectrum Internet Gig will enable them to connect to the Internet of Things (IoT), stream video and enjoy enhanced gaming and other entertainment simultaneously on multiple devices.
While customers may experience these speed upgrades as if a switch has been flipped, they were made possible by Charter’s ongoing investments in infrastructure and technology. These investments allow us to better serve our customers every day, in ways big and small. Since 2014, Charter has invested more than $21 billion in these critical areas.
Charter is committed to delivering simple, straightforward and high-value products to our over three million customers living in New York, and millions more across the 41 states we serve.
The 100 Mbps entry-level broadband speed enjoyed by Spectrum customers today is 20 times faster than it was eight years ago, while the price per Mbps for customers has decreased 93%!
For those customers in places like New York City where the entry level speed is 200 Mbps, that value is even greater.
And to further ensure New Yorkers, and customers across the country, get great value from our broadband, we don’t use data caps or usage based billing and we don’t charge modem or early termination fees.
At Charter, we’re ensuring that our customers get more for less and that’s making a difference every day.
