Charter is committed to providing faster and better broadband to more Americans in urban, suburban, and rural areas, and today the FCC has taken two important steps that will help us continue to deliver on that commitment. The FCC action on section 621 will eliminate excessive and duplicative fees that divert resources away from broadband deployment and make services more expensive for consumers. And by requiring providers to submit shape files indicating where they are able to provide broadband, the FCC is equipping policymakers with more granular and accurate maps so that they can better direct subsidies to areas that are truly unserved. Broadband offers life-changing opportunities, and the decisions the FCC took today are going to help Charter and other cable providers bring those opportunities to more people across the country.
