As millions have shifted to working and learning remotely, Charter is providing vital connectivity to our more than 29 million customers across 41 states. Our products and services have proven critical to the country’s continued operation, ensuring our customers can do their jobs, learn remotely, connect with medical professionals, access vital information, and keep in touch with family and friends.

To offer assistance to students and teachers who will finish the year learning remotely, Charter has extended the following offers through June 30, 2020:

  • Waiving Late Fees and Disconnects:
We will extend our pledge not to charge late fees or terminate service for residential or small business customers who let us know they are facing difficult economic circumstances related to the coronavirus pandemic.
  • Free Wi-Fi Access:
We will keep Wi-Fi hotspots across our footprint open for public use.
  • No Data Caps and No Hidden Fees:
As always, Charter imposes no data caps or hidden fees.
  • Free Internet for 60 Days for New Student and Educator Households:
Charter has extended its offer of Spectrum Internet up to 100 Mbps for free, including in-home Wi-Fi, for 60 days for any new subscriber household with teachers or K-12 or college students.

Charter will also continue to offer Spectrum Internet Assist, our high speed, low cost broadband program to any eligible low-income household.

Americans are facing uncertain and worrying times because of COVID-19, and Charter employees have stepped up to offer our customers reliable connectivity when it matters most. Charter is a company where people don’t just do their jobs, they build careers. This long-term commitment to our employees is why we recently announced that on top of already competitive wages and excellent benefits, we will permanently increase our minimum wage to $20 per hour. The initial increase was implemented immediately for frontline field technicians and customer service call center employees who are the face of our company to our more than 29 million customers and who are providing critical services to our communities, emergency relief workers, and government entities. Those frontline hourly workers – regardless of current wage – will receive an immediate $1.50 per hour increase and subsequent increases so that in 2022 all current and future hourly employees will have a starting rate of $20 an hour or more. We know our workforce is key to our long-term success and ability to deliver exactly what our customers depend on – great service and reliable connectivity – and we are proud to invest in them.

In addition to investments in our workforce, over the past five years Charter has invested nearly $40 billion in new technology and infrastructure, which positioned us to deliver fast and reliable internet service to millions of homes and businesses during this crisis, even with an incredibly high rate of growth in a condensed timeframe.

During this time of uncertainty, connection has never been more important and our team of 95,000 employees are committed to delivering the best possible service for our valued customers – now and in the future.
