Creating American Jobs

Charter's investments in a robust network infrastructure and our American workforce enables us to provide the best possible service to our customers, while also helping grow local and national economies.

Hiring 20,000 Employees

Charter has hired more than 22,000 employees since 2012 – with a commitment to add 20,000 more by 2020. These are good jobs that feature robust benefits, including retirement security, opportunities for advancement and continued training. Charter is a company where our employees can build great careers.

$15 per hour minimum wage

Our employees are the key ingredient to helping us deliver on our core business objective of providing superior products with great customer service. A $15 per hour minimum wage for these valued workers builds on our commitment to hire over 20,000 employees by 2020 and will enable us to better attract, train and retain the highly skilled, diverse workforce we want and need to solve our customers’ problems or install cable broadband service in their homes.

Bringing Back American Jobs

We’re bringing customer service jobs back to the U.S. from offshore call centers. The 2017 opening of a bilingual call center in McAllen, Texas – where we’re hiring hundreds of employees – is part of our larger commitment to growing a highly-skilled, diverse and insourced workforce. We are also insourcing more of our field technician operations.

Whether we’re selling our industry leading services or supporting our customers, we want Charter employees to handle these interactions.

Creating Career Opportunities for Veterans and Military Spouses

Part of our effort to grow our highly-skilled, diverse and insourced workforce, includes hiring more veterans and increasing employment opportunities for military spouses. Charter is proud to employ nearly 12,000 veterans – 12 percent of our total workforce – and is committed to increasing our veteran hiring by 5 percent by 2020.

We’re doing this through a variety of partnerships that support our efforts to recruit, train and retain veterans and their spouses across our national footprint, including:

Spectrum Broadband Technician Apprenticeship Program
Helping train veterans leaving service to become broadband technicians.

Ft. Bragg Career Resource Center
Recruiting and training qualified military service members.

U.S. Department of Defense’s Military Spouse Employment Program
Tapping into a talent pool of qualified professionals married to members of the armed services.

Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program
Providing fellows with management training and hands-on experience in the civilian workplace.
