Gifts for more than 150 Central Florida kids were loaded for delivery Tuesday afternoon to make the holidays a little better for children with HIV or who have parents with HIV.
The toy drop was at the Hope and Help Center of Central Florida, a center providing support to those affected by HIV and AIDS in the Orlando area.
“HIV medication and care is very expensive, so our clients don’t have the disposable income that a lot of families would have,” said Lisa Barr, executive director of the Winter Park center. “This is a way for them to normalize and be able to celebrate with their families in a way that they would not be able to,” she said.
