Over the last two years, Charter has expanded its network to provide broadband to over 1.5 million homes and businesses, about a third of which were in rural areas. Last week saw another milestone in our commitment to deliver broadband to more people in more places as we broke ground on a project that will bring new services to Cascade, Montana, Population: 685.
At a small event to celebrate the ground breaking, U.S. Senator Steve Daines, Cascade Mayor Murry Moore, Cascade Commissioner James Larson, Cascade Councilman Roger Wright, Representative Wendy McKamey, and other local leaders noted the importance of bringing new service to the area.
“This is about closing the digital divide and expanding access to broadband for our rural communities for critical services like telemedicine and educational resources. Charter’s investment in this project will change the lives of the folks here in Cascade and across Montana.” – Senator Steve Daines
Charter has invested to improve and expand services so that more residents have access to fast, reliable broadband, including building to 11,000 new homes and businesses in Montana in the past two years alone.
“We are focused on providing the best broadband internet, TV, mobile and voice services possible to consumers and we look forward to delivering these high-value Spectrum services to residents and businesses in Cascade.” – Mary Roehr, Charter Communications, Director of State Government Affairs
Charter’s investment of nearly $40 billion in infrastructure and technology over the last five years is just one of the ways we’ve demonstrated our long-term commitment to helping to close the digital divide. In addition to expanding our network, we’ve increased access to high speed broadband through Spectrum Internet Assist, our industry-leading, low-cost broadband product available to eligible low-income students and seniors.
We’re excited to grow beyond the 233,000 Montanans we already serve to help connect even more of their families, friends, and neighbors. Charter is proud to deliver high-quality, low-cost broadband to communities like Cascade, and we look forward to continuing our work to connect more communities across the country.
